18th Century Japanned Corner Cupboard
A very decorative George III japanned corner cupboard painted in the Chinese style with stylised oriental landscapes, flora and birds. This 18th Century chinoiserie corner cupboard has three interior shelves and has very pretty original butterfly hinges and matching escutcheon plates. The lock is missing, but the original internal catches are intact and the doors open and hold closed well. There is a small gap to one of the back boards and a short split to one door and the lower edge of the cupboard. These can be seen in the photographs and are not detrimental to the appeal of the cupboard, the condition is compatible to the age and use of the piece. The general surface decoration is in very good condition and the colour and patina are excellent. A very appealing and highly decorative 18th century chinoiserie corner cupboard to add style to any interior.
