19th Century Open Armchair in the 17th Century Style
An excellent generously proportioned 19th Century beechwood open armchair in the 17th Century style. This antique armchair has a carved X stretcher and is raised on elegantly curved reeded legs, terminating in scrolled and reeded feet. The sweeping and scrolled arms are also reeded and carved with acanthus leaves. This substantial antique armchair, dating from the Victorian period has been reupholstered in our workshop in a linen weave fabric in a versatile natural shade. This chair is in good condition, standing well with no wobbles. There is some historic minor woodworm damage to one arm, this has been treated again for peace of mind. The chair is very comfortable as well as incredibly stylish! Whether placed in a library, sitting room or indeed any room in the home, this beautiful, high quality antique armchair would make an important decorative statement.
