19th Century Mahogany Elbow Chair

An antique mahogany elbow chair by the renowned London furniture maker Cornelius V Smith. This striking chair is a superb example of Smith's design and craftsmanship and bears his stamp on a rear leg. This antique armchair has an elegant curved inlaid back with sunburst carved top rail which is supported by reeded uprights and cross stretchers. The sweeping arms with twisted reeding and exquisite lion head carvings, make this antique armchair an outstanding piece of furniture that would make an important addition to any interior. The front legs of this high quality antique chair terminate in beautifully carved paw feet, whilst the back legs follow a simple out swept line. The overstuffed seat has been professionally recovered using an attractive green moire fabric.
