19th Century Stool in Original Paint
A very decorative 19th Century square stool in the original paint, probably Italian. This charming antique stool has elegant tapering legs which are painted with flowers and foliage within a gilt cartouche on all sides of each leg. This striking painted decoration is repeated on the frieze. This antique stool has been recovered with a textured linen fabric in a soft green fabric which perfectly compliments the original paintwork. The are some small areas of minor wear to the original paintwork, but we love the authenticity of the original painted decoration, which is still incredibly striking with vibrant highlights. The condition is very good, the stool stands firmly with no wobbles. This is a distinctive and highly decorative antique stool ready to place in any interior.
