19th Coromandel wood Domed Top Tea Caddy
A fine Victorian coromandel wood tea caddy with domed top, twin division interior and blue silk lining to the inside lid. This beautiful antique tea caddy has a distinctive brass mount which surrounds a deer hunting scene. The central oval plaque is exquisitely worked in relief, giving the scene a wonderful three dimensional quality, well suited to the subject matter. The front of the tea caddy is embellished with an attractive escutcheon, in the same style as the top mount. The tea caddy is in lovely condition with a working lock and key. An excellent example of Victorian craftsmanship, combining the richness of the coromandel wood with strong applied decoration. The perfect antique tea caddy for decorator and collector alike.
