"A Harlott's Progress " 18th Century Engraving Plate 1 by William Hogarth
This is an original antique copper plate engraving of Plate 1 in the series "A Harlott's Progress by William Hogarth (1697 -1764), a good clear impression on early paper. Plate 1 in the set of engravings depicts the arrival in London of the young Moll Hackabout. The prints were first published in 1732. This very early impression is in good condition, there is minor discolouration around the edge but this is to be expected in an item at least 200 years old. Provenance, a private collection of important early English prints and engravings.
