A Rare Copper Horlicks Advertising Jug
A very rare copper jug advertising the Horlicks Drinks Company. This tall and elegant antique jug with back handle, folding carrying handle and well formed spout has many features of the Arts and Crafts period. The distinctive cream enamel plate on the front of the jug displaying the Horlicks brand name in blue lettering is typical of the advertising style in the early 20th Century. We believe this jug was not generally available, but made especially for decorative and promotional purposes in the new Horlicks Factory which opened in Slough in 1906. Presented in superb condition, this is a highly unusual and decorative item, of interest to both decorator and collector.
