Antique Hand Stitched Lohori Kantha Throw

A wonderful vintage Lohori Kantha throw in bold chevron design. Blankets or quilts like this have been made by women in the Bengali region of India for centuries, traditionally using old saris and fabrics. The striking red and black chevron design has been worked completely by hand using minute stitches to combine two pieces of plain fabric into a stunning and desirable blanket, throw, quilt or wall hanging. This generously sized textile is in very good condition and of a good weight, the colours are strong and the stitching is exquisite. The classic design of this remarkable item ensures it will be a focal point wherever it is placed.
