Early 20th Century Oriental Elephant Garden Seat
A fabulous ceramic oriental garden seat modelled as an elephant, a stylised and highly decorative howdah forms the seat. The elephant seat is glazed in varying tones of green with a subtle gold ornamentation, the tusks are off white and it is raised on a molded and pierced plinth base. There are some minor signs of wear to the glaze and some small chips to the base as can be expected on an item that has probably had some outdoor use, these are clearly shown in the photographs. The seat is still very strong and sturdy and ideal to use as an additional seat - this would add a fun touch to any room! This very unusual object would be a decorative focal point wherever it is placed and the beautiful muted colours would work well in many schemes.
