George III Satinwood Library Table
A fantastic George III satinwood library table with the original green tooled leather top, two opening drawers and elegant tapering legs, terminating with original brass cupped castors. This superb antique writing table of golden satinwood is inlaid with harewood and olive wood in an an elegant design of floral sprays and swags. These swags are echoed in the unusual and very decorative drawer handles. Mahogany crossbanding frames the drawers, highlighting the classical swag detail within this border. This Georgian table is in good, sound condition. There are some historic minor repairs to the inlaid border, not easily visible and marks and blemishes to the original leather top, but these are compatible with the age of the piece and the leather top is really beautiful, with a soft mellow olive green colouring that adds to the character of the table. With two working drawers and two dummies, this table would work well as a centre table, as the continuous decoration to all sides allows it to be used as a free standing piece if required. This is an outstanding Georgian writing/library table, with its wonderful glowing colour, intricate inlay and elegant lines, this piece would make an important feature in any interior design scheme.
