Pair of 19th Century Glass Covered Urns

A fabulous pair of 19th century glass urn with covers standing on square stepped bases and faceted stems. The bowls of these antique glass urns are finely etched with swags and floral decoration, the lower portion has subtle faceting. The etching is repeated on the covers which have faceted knops. The condition is excellent, there are a few tiny inclusions in the glass, obviously acquired during manufacture, and in no way detrimental - if anything, this adds to the beauty of antique glass pieces. These superb antique urns have an excellent provenance, originally in the collection of Count Redmond Clayton - Browne - Clayton of the Villa La Punta, Liguria, Italy and through the family by descent. A wonderful pair of 19th Century glass urns to add elegance to any interior.
