Pair of Early 20th Century Chinoiserie Side Chairs

A very striking pair of early 20th Century Chinoiserie side chairs, the splat, sides and front rail are decorated with lacquered traditional oriental scenes. The front cabriole legs have gilded shells to the knees and terminate with pad feet. These chairs are firm and stable and have been reupholstered in a light reflecting ivory fabric which suits the style perfectly. There is slight wear to the black paint on the cresting rail and feet, we love this sign of gentle wear and feel it adds to the country house look. This very stylish pair of antique side chairs would add decorative impact wherever they were placed.
