Pair of Oak Arts & Crafts Armchairs

An impressive pair of 19th Century Arts and Crafts armchairs with the original needlework seats depicting dragons in a stylised scene. The chairs are raised on well turned and chamfered legs with attractively scrolling arms. The back panel, which highlights the beautifully figured oak, has a carved frame typical of the decoration of the Arts and Crafts school, terminates with softly rounded finials. This pair of antique oak armchairs are in solid, sound condition. The needlework seats are in good order and have been carefully plumped up from the underside in our workshop to maintain their comfort and appearance. The soft, muted colours of the original needlework seats are really lovely. This striking pair of chairs would make a strong decorative statement in any interior.
