Pair of Victorian Royal Chrystoleums

An exquisite pair of Victorian chrystoleums depicting a young Queen Victoria and Prince Albert on horseback with Windsor Castle in the background. Painted on glass in strong, vibrant colours which take on a luminosity due to the glass ground upon which this beautiful antique pair of chrystoleums are painted. There is some very minor wear to some of the paint of the glass, but overall the colours radiate with energy from this delightful pair of pictures. The characters of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, and especially the horses are enhanced by the stylised portrayal of the royal group. The superb quality and high decorative appeal of these pictures, is highlighted by the subtle humour that the artist conveys. Housed in their original mahogany frames, this pair are painted from artwork published by J.Fairburn, London.
