Superb George II Carved Giltwood Mirror
A fabulous Georgian carved giltwood wall mirror dating from the reign of George II with decoration typical of this period of design excellence. This antique mirror which is in landscape form, is exquisitely carved with scrolls, acanthus leaves, roundels and a distinctive and important pediment with cherubs head. The mirror has a wonderful 3D effect with the central sculptural cherubs head set within the scrolling canopied cresting, making a stunning focal point. The condition of this mirror is excellent, the plate is not original, but appears to have been within the outer frame for some time. The gilding is in lovely condition. A rare and outstanding antique mirror ready to add decorative impact to any interior design scheme.
