Victorian Governess Cart

This is a little different from our usual stock, but following our policy for buying what we like, we just had to have this! Dating from the late 19th Century, this governess cart has been in the collection of the same family for very many years and has all its original fittings, including a superb pair of carriage lamps, whip holder and brass front rail. The seats are painted in black lacquer and the padded back rest is covered with cream fabric. The coach work retains the original smart green and black stripe paintwork. The overall condition is good, there are marks and blemishes as you would expect, commensurate with age and use. A fabulous example of transport from the turn of the century, this governess car is perfect for those with an equestrian interest.
