Early 19th Century Welsh Oak Bread & Cheese Cupboard

A superb early 19th Century Welsh oak bread and cheese cupboard raised on stile supports. This traditional antique Welsh cupboard comprises of two parts, the top with two opening doors has a band of open spindles, intended as ventilation for food. The lower section has two drawers and two opening doors. The condition of this antique Welsh bread and cheese cupboard is very good, the brass door and drawer handles are original and the colour and patination are outstanding. The front has been beautiful polished over the years as can be seen in the photographs, the panelled sides are slightly darker as they would not have been polished with the same enthusiasm as the front! This is a charming and beautifully proportioned example of Welsh vernacular furniture, offering excellent storage and decorative appeal. A delightful piece of Welsh antique furniture that would work in any interior, traditional or contemporary.
